Any further comments about the AOE toys?

"Thank goodness they will soon be gone from the shelves. Retailers never learn from their mistakes, too much wave 1, then nothing."

"I have enjoyed these Movie toys, there are times when they've had some issues, Monkey arms or articulation limited by kibble location, but some of the transformations have been really interesting it's just a shame that Collectors haven't been able to be aware of the different number of paint schemes coming in advance enough to pick one and go with it without gambling on picking an early paint scheme hoping it will be the one they prefer."

"Welcome return to more simple transformation designs and the sculpting is admittedly gorgeous, however I don't feel the toys were very well inspired nor were they marketed well."

    "Worst line in years"

    "Surprisingly good"

"The first time I have completely skipped a TF line. None if them tickled my fancy enough to get some."

    "ME GRIMLOCK SMASH!!!!"

"Not a bad line-up of Movie toys this time around. Could have used a few more characters in the Generations line (hello Stinger), but nothing too major to complain over."

    "Under-rated in my opinion."

"Impressed with the movie toys compared to last movies, they were better designed and more life like in my opinion"

"Mostly very ugly transformers which I avoided. I like how they stuck to a medieval warrior look for the Dinobots though."

Any further comments on the Age of Extinction film?

"Possibly the worst film I have ever seen. The rocket boots just killed me."

"Its really bad... really really bad. My wife fell asleep in the last 30 minutes of it."

"Again surprisingly Good and my fav"

"By no means a masterpiece but not as bad as everyone says it is. I actually feel like the non-Prime & Dinobot Autobots are real characters with personality in this one."

"I went into this film with extremely low expectations and surprisingly came out feeling very good about it :-)"

"Fool me once, shame on you..."

"A fantastic and heavily underrated sequel/soft reboot, which shows the Transformers at their most (arguably) human basics, especially the suffering Optimus Prime, and the subsequent fanbase questioning over the potential justification in killing one of the very beings he swore to protect."

"Such a disappointment. It was a particularly dumb and nasty film."

"I'm not a real Bayverse fan, but for what is was it holds up."

    "garbage"

Any further comments on Transformer fiction?

"I wish we were treated to annuals this year! Combiner Wars will hopefully be far superior to Dark Cybertron and I hope that empire of Stone is the last we see of McCarthy, his writing this time around is dull and boring, and I am not sure if it is more or less of an insult than what he subjected us to in AHM."

"Apart from the Windblade splash page my favorite piece of artwork for the year is the box art for this years Botcon set, it's spectacular and highly detailed."

    "I wish i read it."

"Certainly the mainstay of the franchise in terms of long-term brand recognition and credibility. A worthy investment by Hasbro."

"The comics are my second favorite aspect behind the toys when it comes to Transformers. Why have we never seen any TF animation with writing, style and intrigue like we see in the comics?!"

"I'm still waiting on my "ReGeneration: Beast Wars" or "ReGeneration: Animated" ongoing series to start... C'mon IDW - WTH guys?"

"As I said last year, it was nice to have a Transformers comic that ironically wasn't shamelessly cramming in new toys by the issue. Not any fault of the authors of course, simply Hasbro getting in the way of attempting to tell good stories."

Thanks, Paulbot! Would've thought that Trev got the member of the year in the bag just like M-bot for customizer.

    Congrats to everyone!

As always, thankyou for creating and compiling the data Paulbot. fascinating to see the overall feelings and thoughts of the local fandom for the year.

Not sure why, but I feel that the "favourites" of 2014 are more focussed this year than previous years. Not sure if it was due to a lack of variety in options (unless you imported) of that there were a few toys that were just better than their line-mates.

I think there were a few standout great figures that were standouts in their category, even with fan character bias were hard to argue with. Evasion prime and AOE Scorn are good examples of this.

Thanks Paulbot. You're a champ for putting this together and running it each year. If we're ever in a bar together I'll have to buy you a drink
