And it has occurred to me that Buzzsaw might not get any sort of SS86 release the way Frenzy & Rumble have, because he didn't make an appearance of any sort in the movie.
Sure, Studio Series has moved the goalposts a couple of times, but given how Buzzsaw, whom we all expected to get a new toy of back in Siege (5 years ago now) is only now getting that toy, I suspect that if that happened (SS widened further to include the cartoon in general) then it would still be 5 years on from now...
I'm hoping that Ravage and Laserbeak get new SS86 toys, like Rumble and Frenzy have to replace the Siege toys after this use.
If they do maybe a Buzzsaw repaint in the Generations Line might pop up sooner.
With the news core class is being cancelled it got me thinking about what we got from it, it definitely gave us some great little toys, probably not a single bad one but i can probably list the one's i physically saw in stores on one hand and it just makes me think retail killed this size class, and with no 'smaller' sizes classes and deluxes now being $40+ i really feel bad for the kids who want to save up for a toy, i remember being so excited when i saved up to buy my first toy (Cybertron Metroplex, lots of chores and birthday money, i was probably 5 maybe 6?) and it is a memory i still remember and when i worked retail i remember kids being so excited counting their coins to buy a toy, $40 is a lot of money as a kid (hell for a toy now as an adult it's getting a bit much which is why i've slowed down buying at retail)
Anyway all this to say i hope hasbro introduces some form of smaller size class for kids, not just cheap authentics and gimmicky crap that ends up in land fill. Wheres the toys for 6-10 year olds that are an afforable puzzle. I guess i now sound like one of those fans who goes 'back in my day' but in this case maybe it's justfied, bring back scout class, the entry point to most lines shouldn't be $40.

Totally agree with you Jaxius, I bagged a few Core figures and generally they were pretty nifty, and decent enough for the price, but with them going..... Unless you look at the trashy gimmick one step toys, there is nothing decent that is under deluxe pricing.

I feel like this is something we really need to be mindful of when it comes to ordering HasLab products from EB Games. Physical games are selling so poorly that UK's biggest games retailer, Game is no longer going to stock games. They will only sell them on a preorder basis. Unless EB Games can pivot into something else, I can't see regional EB Games stores like mine which is pretty much a sad ghost town of a store staying open much longer.

I just had my first poor quality control experience on a Transformers product in a very long time. I got Legacy G1 Windsweeper and Prime Breakdown. Breakdown was missing one of his wheels. Fortunately I didn't buy the set for Breakdown, so I'm not worried about it other than the decreased resale value. But yeah, first QC issue in at least a couple of years for me.

I wish they completed the red paint stripe on Studio Series 86 Leader Swoop's legs, instead of giving another sword. Makes me think they want people to buy the comic edition Grimlock so that all the dinobots get a red sword.
Today is 17 September 2024 - which means it's 40 years since the G1 Cartoon first aired in the US.
The Gamesmen is celebrating this as Transformers Day
The comic book was on sale earlier though, and it's likely the toys were on sale before this date too? Tracking down the date the toys first went on sale might be something hard to track down to an authoritative source.
There was debate about the launch of the toys in Australia a few years ago.
