    Default Galvatron in G1 cartoon

What do you guys think about Galavatron's plasma baths on the planet Thrull, after being thrown out of Unicron at the end of Transformers the movie. Did the plasma baths as he claimed increase his power? Or was he pretty much the same in power, but with fried logic circuits making him insane. Everyone always calls cartoon bad guys insane, like Megatron and Dr Claw in Inspector Gadget, but he really was insane! Quite an awakening as a kid watching the cartoon!

I think he was weaker without Unicron since he could never shoot a robot and turn them into a grey pile of dust like he did in the movie. (But I was also convinced of this by Grimlock's letter columns in the UK comic )

The plasma baths definitely made him a crazy and he was still more powerful than the average Decepticon so others didn't challenge him.

    Only more powerful with Unicron.

I always thought the hot Plasma Bath fused something in his head. Ummm remember how Unicron tortured him when he was bad? I always thought the Bath locked the pain torture thing in his head into a ON position making him loose his mind.

    Hope that made some sense.

Stronger with Unicron, as I always assumed that as Unicron's vassal, he had awesome power channeled to him. After Unicron's demise however he was still much stronger than the average Transfomer due to having a body made by Unicron (same for Scourge and Cyclonus).

In the movie, he seemed relatively sane, afterwards, I remember him coming out of the bath and he had the old 'frizt' animation things on his head, which is where he went really crazy, so I blame it on the baths, the BATHS!!!!!

...and yet another reason why, IMO, G1 Comic Galvatron was better than G1 Cartoon Galvatron. Galvatron remained an indomitable powerhouse of juggernaut even without Unicron's influence!

    Example pics:
    Galvatron vs Ultra Magnus
Galvatron versus Tracks, Ironhide, Smokescreen and Jetfire
    Galvatron versus The Wreckers
Galvatron versus Ultra Magnus again (these two fought a lot )
    Galvatron versus Centurion
    Galvatron versus Powermaster Optimus Prime
Galvatron inspects Rodimus Prime's crucified corpse
    Galvatron versus everyone!

IMHO Cartoon Galvatron = lamer, Comic Galvatron = pure win.

A put it down to a combination of things..
    - the power Unicron gave him definitely made him happy. He felt unstoppable, mad with power.
    - the migraines from Unicron tortured his mind. He feels unbelievably powerful and yet he is continually brought to his knees.
    - and to top that off with the discomfort of a lava bath? Well.. I think the sun must've touched his brain.

From my understanding of the cartoon, Unicron reformatted/upgraded Megatron, already pretty much the most powerful Decepticon short of gestalts/city-bots, into an even more powerful form, which was pretty much invulnerable/uberpowerful with a link to the godlike Unicron...until Galvy betrayed (or tried to betray) Unicron, who was then destroyed by a MacGuffin. This left Galvatron a merely more powerful version of Megatron, with the small but notable change of his being submerged in a plasma pool making him insane as indicated in Webworld.
Then he got absorbed the Earth and got buried under ice in Headmasters.

That's if you see Headmasters as canon. I have to say I found that series ridiculous. Maybe it was the lack of correct voicing.

On Galvatron. I think it's safe to say his vocal processor was also damaged as it gave him that new screeching voice, instead of the old gravelly one.

Uh on that one is just a change in voice actors..... for the movie it was Leonard Nimoy (Spock) but in the series since they needed someone cheaper and always available - voice actor for ol Megs himself, Frank Welker since I guess they needed to have Galvy be projected as insane that's why Welker voice him is his whiny voice Had they continued with Nimoy for the series albeit in an insane take on the character.... hmmm it wouldnt have worked... I cant imagine Spock in insane mode heheheh, but then who knows? he could surprise us...

I think it's kinda like how some drunk guys think they are tough and ignore danger and don't think rationally.
